Parsley

Parsley

You can sow this directly from May to July 1st, but since Muskoka is
notorious for being a short growing-season area, you're best to start
parsley off indoors in March, then transplant outside in early Spring.
Thin plants to 4 inches apart.

Parsley seed is often slow in germinating, so if you can, soak the
seek for 24 hours prior to planting, and start the seeds in an
artificially- warmed indoor bed. Or, start off outdoors in a cold
frame in early May, but remember to keep well watered, as plants under
glass do dry out more quickly than most plants out in the open.

Parsley, once established, will grow quickly, and can be frequently
cut for continued growth.

For successive plants, or for late plants you want to bring indoors
for winter cropping, plant again in mid-July.

Actually a biennial plant, parsley is usually grown as an annual, as
the second year, it goes strictly to seed, then dies off.

Days to maturity: 72-80
