Eggplant
Sow seed indoors March 1st to April 1st.
Keep quite warm if possible; soil temp should be about 85 * F
You can assist with this by covering a heating pad with plastic or
enclosing in a garbage bag, turning it on medium, and leaving it
underneath the planting tray.
The plastic protects the pad from getting wet when you water the tray,
therefore eliminating the fire danger.
Just be sure the pad is not placed on something that will not tolerate
the heat, as you'll want to leave the pad ON 24-7 until the plants are
well established.
Remember, you will have to water more often, because the continual
heat from below will tend to dry the soil faster.
Seeds usually germinate in between 5 to 10 days.
