Best started indoors, but may be sown directly ¼ inch deep, and
thinned 2 feet apart when about 5 inches high.
To harvest, cut the central heads before they reach 6 - 9 inches
across. Side growth is encouraged after the top growth is cut. An
excellent freezer crop---- it matures in 70 - 98 days.
In areas where the gardening season is short, if you don't have indoor
space to start plants off, you're better to buy started plants and
transplant directly to the garden.
Be sure to rotate the crop every season.
