er, far be it from me to interrupt two Grumpy Old People in full flight
<g!>, but this is the common western refrain. everyone seems to think
their
own country is uniquely going to the dogs and all young people are
useless,
but i am continually having to point out that people have been going on
about this for (literally) millenia, everywhere.

i actually happen to think australia's not going to the dogs (especially
after a change of govt!!!) & that most young people are perfectly all
right,
but who am i to try to reason with millennia of grumpy oldsters? :-) i
can't
speak for everywhere, though. mainly, i think it's ironic that adults run
everything & adults make all the mistakes, & then want to turn around &
have
a go at young people for every imaginable problem, none of which they
created personally.

having said that, i think capitalism's weaknesses & problems are really
starting to show now, though. there's nothing wrong with trade, buying &
selling (it's part of the human condition) but the way things are now is
just ludicrous. the peasants won't even rise up because the peasants are
the
worst of all!!

i work with my hands to try to make an honest living in various
capacities,
& find it outrageous that the most literally useless people amongst us are

making loads of money & have more influence. yet if everything went bad
overnight, it's people on this group (for example) who aren't going to be
starving, isn't it? your average overpaid tech nerd or c.e.o. simply
wouldn't make it.

fwiw i pretty much agree with farmie about the ****, although i am
ignorant
& she is magnificent. it really is _much_ harder to do anything wrong than

the British Composted Poo Society would have you believe. especially where

cool poo is involved. mainly i have chicken manure (as i have chickens) &
due to a combination of laziness, hurriedness, & general ignorance, i
always
put it on "early" before it's cooled, but nothing has ever gone wrong - i
just make sure it's not near any root zones if i'm not sure about it - it
doesn't mean you can't apply it yet, just a question of where. i haven't
been able to get horse poo easily for a while, which is of course
heartbreaking.

speaking of poo, i read in one of my books recently that one should not
apply manure & lime at the same time, but rather manure first, lime a
month
later (or was it the other way around?) most books etc don't say this,
ime.
for example, i would apply blood & bone with lime, at the same time
(again,
laziness, ignorance, etc). b&b clearly isn't poo, but has some of the same

roles. poo, as stated, i just put it on top (not mixed in - refer to
laziness, etc etc!) regardless of season, age, what else has been applied,

etc.
any thoughts?
