Well not as many subtleties as the Poms.  I love their capacity for 
linguistic subtlety and especially when 3 days later you're still
wondering 
if you were insulted or complimented.

:-))  Sorry I think the youngster's gotcha there Charlie.  I don't think I

can recall hearing anyone use that since I was a child.  What you could
have 
written was:
"just injecting a good word for me mate".  Note the use of "me mate" -
"my" 
is a bit too refeened if using Aussie slang.  Ya don wanna hafta open ya 
mouth eny more than ya hev to.
