Check with your nursery, and use a good one to get a good magnolia. Fall
and
spring are normal planting times, depending on the specific plant.
Transplants need cool and a wetter season to adjust with time for some
root
development before frost . While the deciduous magnolia may require
insulation for the first winter, and the Farmers' Almanac says you will
have
a cold and snowy winter, and thereafter it should do well.
