Palm Damage

by "John Keller" <kakela1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 26, 2003 at 07:38 PM

I am new to Florida and have recently bought a home with Queen Palms. One
of
a three palm group is smaller that the other two, though they were planted
at the same size and time. The smaller palm has new fronds that look burnt
or dead on the tips when they emerge and then they dry up. The tree is now
shaded by the two more vigorous palms. We recently added Magnesium Sulfate
to the soil around all three trees at the recommendation of the Home Depot
garden center. It is too soon to see what effect that will have.

I am worried that we are losing the damaged tree. Is there anything else
that we can do? Thanks
