I live in central west florida on the west coast.. st pete to be
exact.
My corn is waste high so far.. I have eaten florida corn... and its
just
as good as corn from up north.. as a matter of fact.. I have had
florida corn
that was better then any corn I ever had. Florida is mostly a sandy
base dirt..
so I went out and bought some bags of miricle grow and made a 5 inch
deep
top soil. Every week or so.. i go get another bag.. or when i can
afford it..
Right now.. the main garden is 10 feet square.. and the corn looks
like its going
to be awsome.. its really taking off now.. and I should have around
50-60 ears
of corn for the 4th of July...maybe even more. Nothing special to
look for...
just plant the seed about an inch deep.. and after it gets 4 to 6
inches high.. thin
them out.. and then hill them up.. I have little hills of dirt.. and
when I water..
it makes like little rivers between the rows. Then I stop watering.
I am pretty proud
of my corn atm.
