pruning/chopping back Euphorbia

by "Colin Spooner" <assy90@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 3, 2005 at 10:32 PM

Hi There,
Sorry if the spelling is wrong!
I have several euphorbia's in my garden, which I would like to keep in
check
..
The advice I have read is to cut back the flowering shoots to ground level

when they fade.
Presumably, new growth should sprout from the base.
I have tried this on a couple, and they have died.
That said,I have successfully taken cuttings from 'silver swan' and rooted

them in a gritty compost.
Where am I going wrong?
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks
Colin
