Outside or in a greenhouse?
If it's outside you need to get varieties suitable for outside like..
Burpless Tasty Green (that is it's name!)
these are often called Ridge Cu***bers.
Grow them from seed on a warm sunny windowsill and at the end of May plant
out in a hole filled with well rotted compost. Keep them well watered at
all
times. These can be left to run along the ground or trained up a trellis
or
similar, two plants will be more than you could use.
Not a bit like shop bought varieties, after you rub off the spines they
actually taste of cu***ber. You will never want one of those insipid shop
bought ones again.
In the greenhouse it's similar. Get a variety for that and deal with it in
the same way.
