I have seen this tree in a newmarket church yard. At first we thought it
was a lilac but on inspection, on the knots of the trunk were full of tiny
further blossom, in a mass. This continued up the whole trunk. The flower
on the tree were simalar to lilac but longer and more spaced out. The
blossom on the trunk was a very bright purple. The flowers on the tree
were a different colour purple. This was the most stunning thing I have
seen.
