==============================
Hydrangeas color is dependent upon acidity. If you thoroughly water them
several times in the Spring with a tablespoon of vinegar per gallon of
water, then they will get the blue coloration. If you are growing in a
non-acidic soil, then they tend to go to a more purple or pink color
(depending upon the variety). Mine have benefited from a wetter than
normal early summer and have bloomed better than they ever have before on
these thirty year old plants. With just the normal acid rain we have,
they've been a beautiful purple color.
