The clover will spread. The trick is to seed very lightly. You don't 
have to seed as thickly as you do with grass. Given how the seeds are so 
incredibly fine, I doubt a spreader would be effective...or it 
would...but just cost you a fortune in seed. I also would reseed...a 
couple times now and again in the fall.
