Yup. Most fertilizers are made of urea and really need up to three weeks
for the nitrogen to get absorbed into the ground.

Best way around it is to lime in the fall. If one must do it now...do
one now and the other in three weeks. One can lime at any time of the
year but fertilizer is a little more time sensitive. The fall is best
cause it won't interfere with fertilizing schedule and gives it the
winter to get absorbed into the soil.

Also, make sure you lime and fertilize on a dry day. The stuff needs to
get into the soil and wet grass will only stick the stuff to the blades.
