Frost won't hurt most vegetables. You can plant stuff like onions,
potatoes, turnip, carrots and peas the moment the soil can be worked.
They and other veggies will tolerate all but the most severe frosts and
I've yet to see one in the last ten years. One year, we got 10 cm of
snow on 5 May...no problem.
I'm actually late this year. I could have had them in a week ago. One
year, I had everything in on April 15th. Carrots especially need to go
in early as they take a long time to sprout.
My tomatoes, corn and cu***ber will go in first week of June.
