I found this part particularly interesting:

Planted in large groves, bamboo can store “four times the CO2 of a
stand of trees of similar size,” Ms. Heinricher said, citing a study
by Jules A. Janssen of the Technical University Eindhoven in the
Netherlands, in 2000. “And,” she said, “it releases 35 percent more
oxygen.”
